Remifentanil versus labetalol for deliberate hypotensive anesthesia in children undergoing cochlear implantation: A randomized clinical trial
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background: Deliberate hypotensive anesthesia (DHA) is performed to achieve a bloodless operative field, allowing better visualization and decreasing the intraoperative blood loss amount. The present trial evaluated efficacy of intravenous infusion (IVI) remifentanil versus labetalol in inducing DHA children undergoing cochlear implantation surgery. Methods: Fifty aged from 2 4 years surgery under general at Al Manaa General Hospital were included this double-blind, randomized study. Patients randomly assigned into two equal groups. Group R: received 0.0125–0.05 µg/kg/h IVI after induction. L: 0.1–0.25 mg/kg/h Assessment quality field surgeon satisfaction recorded. Heart rate (HR) mean arterial pressure (MABP) recorded baseline, intubation, then 5 minutes start study drugs every 15 until end procedure, for 30 recovery). Results: Quality surgical significantly group R compared L. Good visual was L (96% vs. 72%, P = 0.049). MABP insignificantly different between both groups all times measurement. HR decreased intraoperatively min till end. Conclusion: Both effective DHA. However, superior by with significant reduction.

Background: General concern is that the pregnancy rate is higher with GnRH-agonist as a protocol of pituitary suppression. GnRH-antagonist protocol provides a shorter period of administration and an easy flexible protocol. In this study, the outcomes of GnRH agonist and antagonist in ICSI cycles are compared in normo responder patients. Materials and Methods: In this randomized clinical trial, ...
